Glam Ur Ink!

We're launching the hottest thing to hit the west coast! We'd like to introduce to you, Glam Ur Ink! Have a tattoo? Don't cover it up to go to a wedding or special event! Dress up your tat to go to the club, go on a date, or just to get attention! You've thought about what art you'd like to display forever...now show it off!

What is Glam Ur Ink?!
It's a glitter tattoo and it lasts 7-10 days! So go ahead...shower, change clothes, wear it day and night for several days! It will last till your honeymoon, looks amazing in the sun, and accents your ink at night! Big or small, our goal is not to cover up your art but to accent and draw attention to it! Add Swarovski crystals along with the glitter tattoos to add more sparkle!

Featured in our shoot, are dresses from Dolly Couture in LA (www.dollycouture.com). We worked with 2 of the best photographer in the wedding business: Eric Hedman (www.ewhphoto.com) and James Hong (www.perpixelphoto.com)...these guys are so unique and have such a wonderful eye for all things beautiful. I love how Eric uses everything around him to create lighting, and ambiance to every photo with detail to accentuating the beauty in every shot. James has an eye for bringing nature to life as a frame around his subject. You can't help but feel comfortable around him, and he manages to pull out the most natural smile from each model. I loved watching both photographers take their passion and turn it into an art form.

So show off! We guarantee people will be talking everywhere you go!

Trial Run Tips for the Busy Bride

You want to be as prepared as possible for your trial run. The more research you do, the better your trial run will be. Your hairstylist should know what questions to ask, but depending on how busy the salon is...these might be things they don't think to ask...but if you've already thought of them, things will go more smoothly.

Photobucket

What to bring to your trial:
Lots of Photos
Hairpieces
Veil
Tiara
Hair Accessories
Jewelry

What to wear?
To my trial? YES! We don't dress up very much these days, so you may not be used to a more formal style...but once you put on your wedding dress, it will look amazing. SO, for your trial, wear a white or light shirt, and preferably something that's a little dressy. Bring your jewelry if you have it, and if you're not getting your hair and makeup done at the same time, wear makeup, similar to the lightness/heaviness you're looking to wear the day of your wedding.

Where is your wedding?
Is your wedding by the beach? In a hotel/church? In an outside garden? Think about the weather conditions. Being so close to the beach, we do many beach weddings. For being outdoors in general, it's better to at least have your hair 1/2 up or all up. There's always the possibility of a breeze. You don't want to have that perfect picture...except for that one hair that blew across your face! You also need to to consider humidity, when outdoors. An up do or 1/2 up will look better for longer in this sort of weather.

What are you used to?
Are you used to your hair all up, or all down? Are you used to volume or more of a sleek look?
Keep this in mind when you are looking for styles. Do all the pictures you like have the same style (big curls, all sleek, etc.)? If they're all different with no common elements, you may need to wait on your trial till you have a clearer picture of what you really want.

What your hair can and can't do...
Be realistic. If your hair is short, or has a lot of layers it may be harder to pull off some up do's or sleek looks. If you don't have thick hair, you may want to consider hair pieces to help your look be fuller. Tell your stylist what you would ultimately like, but have some realistic options in mind as well.

*What if what you like, is not necessarily what your fiance likes?
You can try to create a happy medium, but ultimately you want to feel confident on your special day, and really....he loves you for who you are. So if you can be happy with what he likes and feel confident...go for it, but if not...do what makes you feel pretty.

Don't forget:
  • Your hair will always relax in time, so curls that are a little tighter are ok (unless the curls are pinned).
  • If you don't like your style during the trial...get it redone during the appointment. Its just a style, they didn't cut, color, or do anything permanent, so don't freak out! It can be fixed.
  • Go somewhere after! Plan a night out with your friends or a family member! Take advantage of your formal style!
Have a happy trial run!

I can't wait to go to another class! I'm bringing friends next time!"

Cindy: "I recently went to The Wow Factor's, bring your own makeup class, I wasn't sure what to expect or what even I would be able to take from it. I soon realized that with a few tips, in a class like this, I could do my own makeup with what I ALREADY had, and have it look like a professional did it. I would highly recommend anybody to come attend these classes! It will be well worth your time!"

Quick Waxing Tips

Photobucket

Get all waxing done a week before the wedding unless you have had waxing done before. However, if you get waxing done often, and you still break out...then allow time to heal. Don’t try waxing anything new 2 weeks prior to the wedding. Go to someone you have gone to before, and make sure your appointments are all with the same person. Remember, waxing the face is different than waxing other parts of the body. Different parts have different sensitivities.

14 Tips for Successful Spray Tanning

So you want to try spray tanning? ...You want to have a little color, so the dress is the ONLY thing that's WHITE!...but you've never tried it before? Even if you have, here's 14 great tips (or reminders) before your Big Day! Please think wisely when using your own tanning methods.

<span class=

Before Tanning:
1. Do not try anything new 2 weeks prior to your wedding!

2. Every spray tan salon is different; the sprays will react to each skin type differently, so if you find a spray tan you like, stick to that tanning salon.

3. Spray tanning lasts about 7-10 days. Certain Medications including female hormone replacement therapy (Premarin) or anti-depressants could inhibit spray tanning, or cause it to fade faster.

4. You'll definitely want to exfoliate your body before going to get sprayed. Do not use an oil-based exfoliant. Don't use any lotions, deoderant, or perfumes of any kind before you get sprayed. Check with the tanning artist to make sure whatever lotions you use will not cause the tan to streak.

5. Shave any facial or body hair where the tan will be applied. Shaving takes off skin, so the tan will last longer if that whatever you need to shave is shaved before the tanning process.

6. Bring dark and loose clothing to wear immediately following the service.

After Tanning:

7. DHA will stain silk and leather material so we do not suggest wearing either of these fabrics for 12 hours following the application. If your car seats are leather, wear long pants or place a towel over the seat.

8. Avoid touching your skin in the areas that have been tanned. Doing so can easily turn the palm of your hands/fingers a brown color.

9. Avoid sweating or raising your body temperature.

10. Do not shower for 6-12 hours, this allows the clear formula (DHA) to develop

11. Do not be afraid of water: the cosmetic bronzer will rinse off in the shower and cause tea looking water to wash off of you, what's left is your real tan.

12. Do not use a lufa, avoid alphahydroxy and glycolic (soaps that have lots of bubbles/foam) unless you want to exfoliate your skin before the next tanning session.

13. Stay out of really hot shower, steam rooms, jacuzzis. The more dry your skin becomes the faster your tan will fade.

14. DO use sunscreen and/or lotion. Just because you're tan, doesn't mean your skin is protected in the natural sun. Keep your skin moist for a longer lasting tan, but check with your spray tan technician, just to make sure your lotion will not have any problems with your new tan.

About Spray Tanning:
Spray tanning has come a long way! Solutions used to be smelly, orangey, and leave streaks…but no more!

Our Spray Tanning Solution has 2 main ingredients. The first is a clear, active agent in our product: DHA (Dihidroxyacetone) which is a natural substance derived from sugar beets. DHA works with the amino acids in the skin, causing a chemical reaction that turns the skins upper layers into a tan, just as the sun would. This reaction occurs in the upper layer of the skin so with natural exfoliation, the tan will be sluffed off after 7-10 (sometimes longer if you take care of your skin).

Secondly, the DHA is mixed in with a bronze color so we can see where the product is going. This product gives you an immediate “cosmetic” result, and allows us to see where we are applying it. However this product washes off when you shower (hours later) leaving the “tan” (DHA that mixed in with your skin).

When you're naturally tan, you tan from the inside out and the DHA causes the same reaction on your skin. The only difference for a spray tan to a real tan is that a real tan goes deeper into the skin’s layers, therefore you stay tan longer. As your skin sluffs off, the lower layers are tan as well, so a real tan lasts longer. That’s why our formula looks natural and not orangy or streaked.

Here's what our clients are saying about us!
I was beginning to loose my tan, so I decided to try a spray tan, it looked even, natural, and best of all it didn't stink. I got it done during the week and it was only $25, AND she came to me!

Very professional and super sweet! Marzette gave me the perfect tan-very even!
